The Department of Logistics and Administration of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) has among its goals the elimination of tobacco consumption in the buildings of the university.
Since the measures developed showed a low success rate, the Department of Logistics and Administration decided to ask for the development of a detailed study on the substantive reasons that promote active smoking in those university spaces where this practice is prohibited. The study provided a source of policy proposals in order to allow the initiation of concrete action to eliminate active smoking within University buildings.
