Stigma and discrimination in mental health

This is a study by Obertament, the Autonomous University of Barcelona and Spora Sinergies, and developed with the collaboration of Obra Social ”la Caixa” and Janssen, in order to explore and identify psychosocial factors that are related to stigma and discrimination against people with a mental disorder. The study has been developed in Catalonia.

The research has been carried out through a combination of qualitative and quantitative methodologies. The first are based on 14 focus groups affected in the first person, family, health professionals, human resources personnel, education professionals and youth; A total of 112 people. A questionnaire about stigma has also been administered to 967 people who have had a mental disorder.. The study consists of a frame over a specific monograph for each of the six highlighted areas.
