Evaluation of Suara Cooperativa’s Online Community Center

Suara Cooperativa

Challenge:

The Suara Cooperative has launched the program Casal Online, which offers online group activities aimed at improving the physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being of older adults while reducing feelings of loneliness. After some time since its launch, it has become necessary to evaluate the program’s implementation and outcomes to determine whether this innovative initiative is effective.

Solution:
Spora designs an evaluation based on the Theory of Change approach. This evaluation model starts with the co-design of the program’s theoretical framework, which illustrates the expected changes in the target population resulting from the intervention. Using the Theory of Change, a mixed-methods evaluation is conducted, incorporating a post-only hetero-administered questionnaire for program users and focus group discussions. The result is an evaluation report that assesses both implementation and outcomes, demonstrating the impact of Casal Online on beneficiaries by increasing physical and cognitive activity while significantly reducing feelings of loneliness. Additionally, recommendations for improving the program are drawn from the conclusions.
