The possible introduction of the Psychiatric Advanced Directives in Mental Health Care (PADs) implies a profound transformation of the care relationship. It opens the possibility for the people to decide on their therapeutic process and plan how they would like to be treated in a situation of clinical complexity. How can we move towards this model that could improve the rights of people who have a mental health problem and at the same time improve the treatments of the therapeutic process?
The report drawn up by Spora Sinergies and the Catalan Federation of Mental Health gathers the assessments of the different agents of mental health and identifies limitations, opportunities and proposals to implement the PADs in mental health. This document represents a starting point for reflecting on this possibility.
