Challenge
The Institution of Catalan Letters must coordinate a set of measures linked to the National Plan for Books and Reading, among which is the promotion of literary creation residencies. To do so, the goal is to create and implement a program and/or grant related to writing residencies within the linguistic sphere, aimed at authors of Catalan literature.
For this reason, the ILC aims to map all residencies that include literary creation throughout the Catalan-speaking territory. Additionally, it seeks to gain a detailed understanding of the characteristics of the literary creation centers to determine the best way to contribute to and support the literary creation sector in relation to residencies.
Solution
To create the map, a joint effort is carried out with La Sullivan and the Institution of Catalan Letters to define literary creation residencies. Based on this definition, a questionnaire is developed to gather data on the various residencies throughout the Catalan-speaking territory. Finally, a search is conducted for entities and organizations that meet the requirements of literary creation residencies, and the questionnaire is administered to them. The results of the questionnaire provide information about the characteristics of the literary creation centers.
