Challenge:
The city of Sabadell has many projects and actions of community intervention that are carried out in the city, but often there is no relationship between the different council areas or territories and sometimes interventions are duplicated in the same district. Neither is there a common model of what it means to intervene with a community perspective, nor the minimum requirements that this type of project should have, nor mechanisms for coordinating or planning these actions.
Answer:
In order to respond to the challenge, a Diagnosis of Community Intervention in Sabadell has been carried out to identify the obstacles and opportunities that the consistory has to develop a common model. Subsequently, a working committee has been created with the figures referring to the community intervention of the different municipal areas to prepare the new Model, which should serve as a guide to establish and maintain an administrative and organizational structure that facilitates community culture in the City Council of Sabadell.
Spora has worked to define this model based on the value of co-responsibility between the Administration and the Community, as well as the paradigm of community empowerment. As a result of this work, the City Council has opted to create a new Community Intervention and Mediation Program that will ensure that this is a reality in the city.
