The Mountain of Alinyà, of 5.350 hectares, is at present the main territorial project in the Environment Area of CatalunyaCaixa (an important savings bank in Catalonia). This extensive zone of mountains in the Pyrenees, constitutes an important natural park.
CatalunyaCaixa has realized up to now a work to have a thorough knowledge of the natural values of the place, and has elaborated a management plan with all the necessary developments to short and half term.
The valley, however, happened to be in a progressive depopulation in the last decades. The Environment Area of CatalunyaCaixa entrusted to Spora Sinergies in 2008 a research to define socio-economic strategies with the aim to promote the development of sustainable initiatives.
